This course provides the participant with the analytical techniques of understanding the parts of a business plan and the financial creditworthiness of a company and/or entrepreneur seeking financing.  Can the proposed project repay the financing and/or is the project worthy of financing?  Participants will be able to understand the language used by company management, creditors and investors.  The course will use actual case studies to demonstrate the elements of the process.

This is a core course presentation in the series leading to the Maine Certification designation.  Enrollment is open to economic developers and others who regularly work with entrepreneurs and the business community and who need assistance understanding business plans with an emphasis placed on the financial aspects of those plans.

Member/Nonmember: $125 / $150
This will include continental breakfast, breaks, downtown parking permit and program materials.


Registration begins at 8:30 and a continental breakfast will be provided. Lunch is on your own; there are several restaurants conveniently located in the vicinity of Maine Development Foundation.  The program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please note– It is the policy of EDCM to charge program participants who register but do not show.  You must notify us in advance of the program date if you wish to cancel your registration.  A $50 administrative fee will be charged for cancellations within 48 hours of the course offering.  No shows will be charged the full amount of the program registration fee.
